Wimberley Fire Rescue FireFighters
Brad Witten, Driver Operator, and Apparatus Bay Manager
Brad began his firefighting career as a volunteer firefighter here in Wimberley. He was mentored by both Chief Czichos I and II (Ray and Carroll). Brad volunteered for this department for 11 years before relocating his family to the Houston area. After XX years as a pipeline welder, he left that lucrative position, bringing his family back to Wimberley. Brad again volunteered for Wimberley Fire and, in 2017, was asked to join the Department as a full-time career fighter.
As Driver Operator and Shop Manager, Brad directs and trains the full-time, part-time and volunteer firefighters to maintain all firefighting trucks, apparatus, equipment and tools. He ensures all stations are maintained and cared for to minimize preventable repairs. Brad’s excellent mechanical skills are not only invaluable to the Department, he mentors and teaches our newer firefighters those skills.
Brad was raised on the Blanco River here in Wimberley. He joined the U.S. Army in 19xx and was honorably discharged in 20xx. He says he learned to dance at the old Market Days dances. Yup, Brad is a local boy.
